Summary


The Severna Park field hockey team was to play two matches at Saturday's Sally E. Nyborg Field Hockey Invitational but a quick glance around the Severna Park High School parking lot showed one match held much more importance.

Painted on the outside of several vehicles was a simple message, "Beat the Barons," referring to Montgomery County's Bethesda-Chevy Chase, Severna Park's fiercest non-county rival and the last team to defeat the Falcons in state competition (B-CC scored a 2-1 double overtime win over Severna Park to win the 3A state title in 2004 although the Falcons returned the favor a year ago).
