Home Sales Fall 20 Percent for Second Consecutive Month

Summary


The number of homes sold in Anne Arundel County fell about 21 percent for the second straight month, while prices were down in the midst of the national credit crisis and a slowing economy.

Only 594 homes were sold in August, a 21 percent decrease from August 2006, according to Metropolitan Regional Information Systems Inc., a Rockville-based listing service. In July, the 578 homes sold was a nearly 19 percent drop from that month a year ago.
