Summary
Rebuilding Together is a charitable organization that modifies homes for low-income families free of charge. The project is also known as Christmas in April. Usually the last Saturday in April is National Rebuilding Day. This is the day my friend and I decided to help the community at a local house in Eastport.
I first looked at the house and did not enjoy the idea of diving into the grime and doing the work. This challenge was a new experience for me and the home appeared to be in rough shape. Along the yard, bushes and plants were scrubby, overgrown and desperately in need of tending. Inside the house, most things needed repainting and a good cleanup and polishing. The house had suffered neglect, but it was nothing that a solid day of hard work couldn't fix.
