When Meade High School boys basketball coach Darryl Adams kicked all of his players out of a practice in early February, senior Johann Jones took it personally.

"It appeared we were going in the right direction, but our team was missing a floor general," Adams said. "It was at that moment, I kicked everyone out of practice. They needed a wake-up call. That was when Johann stepped up and became the leader of our team. It needed to happen like that and I'm sure he will remember that day for many years to come."
