Zoning prohibitions in the county could kill the largest proposed slot machine gambling location in the state, even if voters approve expanded gambling in a 2008 referendum.

If the referendum passes, Maryland's constitution would allow slot machines in five different locations, including an area of the county that is within two miles of the Baltimore Washington Parkway.
