Summary
In trophy season, anyone can catch fish; anyone, that is, who uses the right baits in the right way, fishes the right water depths and with lures the right depth below the surface - and if a big fish is around. Might I add, there is no single right way to score; some things work for some fishermen, other things for others. But, there are some basic patterns that work best for all fishermen.
The accompanying illustration best shows my preference, and I can't take all the credit for its effectiveness.
