THE CHURCH: Severn Christian Church at 8132 New Cut Road is an independent, nondenominational church that has as its cornerstone a strong commitment to biblical authority. "This church preaches and teaches from the Bible," said evangelist David Frye, who is the church's senior evangelist. "We are not seeker-driven. We are sensitive to people who need the Lord in their life, but we are driven by pleasing God first and foremost."
It began in 1957 as the First Christian Church in Glen Burnie in a small facility on Oak Manor Drive. In order to grow, not only to house a burgeoning membership but to allow others to join, the church decided to build a larger facility that could seat 550 people at a time. The church got its new name in 2006 and now has about 500 members and sees about 400 at Sunday services. Mr. Frye has been with the church since 2002.See the full content of this document
