THE CHURCH: St. Alban's Episcopal Church began as the only religious offering in Glen Burnie - a Sunday School service held on the front porch of Dr. Thomas Brayshaw's home in 1890.

In the early 1890s, Glenburnie Chapel was built on land donated by the owner of the Curtis Creek Furnace Mining and Manufacturing Co. The church made plans to move in 1900. But rather than go to another church, it moved the church to them. The old Marley Chapel, a colonial-era chapel in disrepair, was moved brick by brick to the church's present location at 1st Avenue and A Street SW.
