Our Say: With Golf Course Vote, Council Should Proceed with Caution

Summary


IN AN EDITORIAL earlier this month, we said the County Council should take control of Compass Pointe Golf Course in Pasadena. We concluded this would be more fiscally prudent than giving the course's management company $3 million to finish the job itself.

Such a takeover may still be the best choice in the end. But we are now convinced that there are so many inconsistencies in the data the council has been looking at that more debate is necessary. A vote to determine the golf course's future, now scheduled for Feb. 7, should be postponed.
