Sophomore Raquelle Jones scored 18 points while junior guard Jasmine Wells chipped in with 17 as the Southern High School girls basketball team took third place at the Holiday Hoops Classic last night. The Bulldogs avenged an early-season loss to arch rival South River by topping the Seahawks 67-55.
Southern (4-2) took control of the game after South River (6-2) scored the game's opening points. Southern then scored the next nine points and never relinquished the lead as a result of its full- court press. The Bulldogs forced several South River turnovers which turned into Bulldog baskets and shooting fouls.See the full content of this document
