Doggie bags could take on a whole new meaning if a bill winding through the General Assembly passes, but some potential restaurant patrons said its sponsor is barking up the wrong tree.

The bill would allow dog owners to bring their pets inside eateries. The idea is getting some flak from people concerned about canine behavior, hygiene and the disruption to others when Rover decides the burger on the next table is calling to him.
